Certfied Ebola free, Psquare lands in Namibia

Despite President Goodluck Jonathan declaring Nigeria free from the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease, the stigmatisation of Nigerians by some African countries continues as they find it hard to allow Nigerians into their country.

The latest victims of the treatment are artists P Square whose Visa approvals to Namibia were delayed mainly due to Ebola concerns.

A Namibian website, New Era wrote: ‘An hour after Nigerian High Commissioner to Namibia, Biodun Olorunfemi had said that the event has been postponed due to complications in the visa applications of the Nigerian twin singers, Namibia Breweries Limited, the concert’s main organizer issued a statement, stating that discussions were ongoing in an attempt to ensure that the P-Square concert takes place as planned. New Era understands that Cabinet’s decision to ban all travellers from the Ebola-hit countries was central to why the visas of the two P-Square singers were not issued until last night. Nigeria is one of the West African countries in which Ebola is wreaking havoc.’

P Square is scheduled to perform at the Hage Geingob Stadium and many Namibian fans had already bought ordinary tickets for N$150 and VIP tickets for N$250 to be at the event.

However all was resolved, as the duo tweeted and shared pictures of themselves on their flight to Namibia with the caption, ‘No worries! Namibia we are now on our way to you!!! #Doubletrouble #concert #Namibia #teampsquare #EbolaFree.’

The brothers landed in Namibia on Friday. September 26, 2014, where they’ll kick off the world tour for the promotion of their 6th studio album, Double Trouble. Their next stops will be Lubumbashi, Congo and Dubai.
